let the lunch packing begin...

Where do I start, geez I haven't talked to this thing in such a long time it feels like. So much has changed, is changing, and has happened. I'll start off with the 'best' thing of them all, we are finally getting out boat disaster cleaned up, thanks to a wonder attorney named Tim Quenelle. They have finally agreed to work with us and give us our $27,000 back, which is a HUGE relief to me!! I just cannot stand to even look at this thing in my back yard anymore as it has caused us nothing but trouble from the beginning. I will be glad when we can show back up at their 'fine establishment' and unhook the piece of shit in their hands!! Anyhoo, there is my 'problem fixed' #1. The next thing that is changing, and some of you may know, but I have decided to go back to work. Actually, I should restate that and say, Trevor wanted me to go back and I decided that it couldn't hurt to apply. Little did I know that I would get hired on the spot! It is a great feeling knowing that I still have my interviewing skills, but its almost like that's where I wanted it to end. I wanted to Ace the interview and walk away with the satisfaction and self accomplished feeling! I start on Monday, and let me tell you, when you have been on your own schedule for 19 months, 5am is going to come WAY to early!! I have tried waking up at 6 all this week so when Monday comes, I'm not totally a wreck. Yesterday, I got up and drove my new commute (I must say its a little longer than the one I have now) and on my way there I actually started feeling nauseous. Is that possible...to feel nauseous from waking up to early?? (and no all you speculators out there...I'M NOT PREGNANT!!) Trevor says its called 'lazy ass syndrome' or LAS. Whatever. So here I am, back to packing lunches, and scheduling my day into a 3 hour time frame. O, and as for Kinley, I found a great babysitter for her to go to. She has other kids, mostly boys so kinley will be right at home, and she is super nice. Lots of toys and a big fenced in back yard to play in. The best part is she is right on our way home, so Trevor can pick her up or I can. Its going to be great. I think she is striving for more attention and is, frankly, bored at home with me. So I guess we will see. All I can do is try my best and see what happens.

And as for our summer, we obviously haven't been to the lake. I know, we could have rowed our way out to a nice little lagoon and had a picnic lunch, but I think I would have been way to tempted to pull the plug and let the f'er sink to the bottom. We have, however, kicked off our string of weddings. Last weekend, we were in Wilbur for Krysta and James wedding. I must say, I had a little bit to much fun. It could be because they ran out of food and I drank on a Caesar salad. And then for some reason, around o I would say beer 10 I decided to pull out my camera. My $700 camera. Don't ask, I could barely walk across the dance floor let alone operate a camera. But I did, and I took 234 pictures, some good, but as the night went on, my aim got worse and pretty soon you could only see the tops of peoples heads. or I would try and operate the zoom and get a picture of only cheeks and eyeballs. ah, it was fun. This weekend, we have another wedding in carnation. Then the 4th of July, and hopefully by then we have a nice, new, RUNNING, boat (key word is running) and we can officially start our summer!!

The Obamas vs. The Engs

I never thought that I would end up marry someone from Ritzville. As high school rivals, you just dont ever imagine it happening. But we all know that I did, and it has been one of the best things ever. A few weeks ago, we had an HOA meeting (thats Home Owners Association for all you small town folk east of the mountain) and during that meeting, we were required to elect new officials. Someone, God knows who, spoke up and nominated Trevor as president. WTF?? He doenst have time to mow the lawn let alone be the president of an HOA! Turns out, there was a second to his nomination and before I knew it I was not only married to someone from Ritzville but I was the First Lady!!

Its been a few weeks now, and so far we (I say 'WE' because he gets the complaints and passes it down to me to "investigate") have only had one order of business. One house a few blocks down from ours has decided to discontinue his garbage services as of December and now there is a rat infestation not only in his house, but they have taken up residency in his neighbors as well. The rats destroyed his neighbors brand new Ford Freestyle and the owners had to turn in an insurance claim to replace the entire interior of the car. So here I sit looking up who to complain to and how to take care of the problem....ah the life of the First Lady!!!

a little food and a little Mariners...

This is it. Monday has arrived again and here I sit wondering what happened to the weekend. My mom and grandma came Saturday morning. I went up to work for a few hours and then Trevor and I ran a few errands that afternoon. Saturday night we had friends over and BBQ'ed beautiful steaks (sorry Nikki...I'm bad about remember the pictures!) I made a jicama salad...my new favorite summer dish, and Grandma made her potatoes and peas. We finished it with garlic bread and banana bars for dessert. It was fabulous!! Sunday, Trevor and I went to the Mariners game. He bought me the tickets for my birthday. It was so nice to leave all of our problems, AKA the boat, and our responsibility, AKA Kinley, at home and just enjoy the day. We had great seats, actually we spent the first 3 inning in someone else's seats. I've always laughed and been annoyed at events watching people walk aimlessly up and down the isle because they cant find their seat. Well, we were those people!! :) I guess we just got a little twitter-painted at the fact we didn't have a 1 1/2 year old, a diaper bag, snacks and stroller in tow :) So, once we found OUR seats it was great. I love baseball, mainly for the food! We started it off with 2 pizza's and 2 Pepsi's. Then at the 6th inning we hit up the corn dogs and chili nachos, much to Trevor's disgust because we couldn't find the garlic fries, and of course more pepsi! :) Anyways, the Mariners are, well, they are the Mariners. I've heard rumor that this is Ken Griffy's last year so I only took pictures of him...Yes, I looked like a freakin tourist taking pictures of the most sought after player the Mariners have!

That afternoon we went down to my aunt and uncles in Sumner and ate, once again, chicken and fruit.
So that's it. Another weekend under our belt. Next weekend we will either be in Vancouver at Trevor's nieces graduation or in Wilbur kicking off our summer weddings! Either way it will come and go way to fast. And some news, we are looking at starting a new change. I'm considering applying for a full time job. Nothing has been decided and we are still weighing our options. I love and would greatly miss being with my little Kinley all day, everyday. But I'm thinking she could use some time with other kids and I could use some time with other adults :) Anyways...that's about all of our excitement. I'll keep you posted as our week continues!

summer bliss

Its been absolutely beautiful here the last couple of weeks. The sun is so warm, feels almost like Vegas. Now if I can just figure out how to get the slot machines in the banks, grocery stores and gas stations I'd be set! We have been pretty busy lately. Trevor and I bought a new boat, a 2001 Mastercraft prostar 209. Its big, a lot bigger than our little 1990 prostar 190, aka the corvette on water. But the whole boat dilemma is a whole nother story all in itself. There is no need to write depressing things on here when there are so many other good things to share! Where was I, o the weather. We cut down a few trees in our back yard. Cedars, about 90 years old (please don't turn me in!!) They were great shade trees, but that's about it. The crows had taken up residency in them, so the bird shit on the deck getting ridiculous, let alone the squawking at 4 am. and the grass wouldn't grow under them, something to do with the acidic soil? One of Trevor's co-workers used to be a logger, so he brought over his gear and went to work. He took the logs and we disposed of the limbs. Here is the story in pictures...

Being nice out is sort of a catch twenty-two. I say that because my poor girl sits at the slider with her shoes crying to go outside. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being outside, but when its 90, I would rather sit inside where there is AC! You may ask yourself "what is outside that's so fun and exciting for little miss Kinley?" Well, let me answer that for you...

Wow that was a lot of pictures! She loves the sprinkler! Its the first thing she goes to when we get outside. I don't really understand why, I mean yeah its hot outside, but that hose water is darn cold!
